Image posts accept a range of shapes, so the three post types above are the square, tallest and widest shapes LinkedIn shows. Profile and background photos can be up to 8 MB; post images up to 5 MB.
How cropping works on LinkedIn
Post images between 4:5 and 3:1 show at their own shape. A panorama wider than 3:1 is centered and the sides are cut. Profile photos are shown as a circle, so the corners never appear. Background photos are a very wide 4:1 strip, with your profile photo covering part of the lower left.
What happens if my image has the wrong size?
Images under 552 × 276 px can't be posted, and small images may look low quality. Profile photos under 400 × 400 px or over 7680 × 4320 px won't upload. If yours is the wrong shape, find matching dimensions with the Aspect Ratio Calculator.
How to prepare an image for LinkedIn
Posts: export 1080 px wide, square or 4:5 for the most feed space. Background: 1584 × 396 px, with key details away from the left. Profile photo: a square JPG or PNG with your face centered.
